Dear pastors, brothers, and sisters, peace be with you! Welcome to the GLEC Mission Hub News segment. This segment aims to provide real-time reports on various ministry activities conducted by our center worldwide. We hope that through your engagement, subscription, and sharing, we can bless more people together and witness the miraculous works of God. In the early hours of July 22nd, we received shocking news that our dear coworker, Pastor Tung Sze Wah, was killed in the war. Here is the report:
On the morning of July 22nd, heartbreaking news came in from our Myanmar coworkers. Our beloved Pastor Tung Sze Wah, who was stationed at the Joyful Children’s Home in the suburbs of Myanmar, was struck in the head by a bullet around noon and has sadly gone to be with the Lord.
According to Pastor Shi Xiangguang of the Faithful Children’s Center, Pastor Tung was advised to leave the center the night before, but he couldn’t let go of the Joyful Children’s Home, where he had served for more than ten years. He was worried that the home would be ransacked of its equipment like the Faithful Children’s Center, and that the children would not be able to come to class.
Called to priesthood in 1993, Pastor Tung graduated from seminary school in 2014 and came to Joyful Children’s Home to serve full-time. In the past ten years, the children at the home have grown from 20 to 150, and he has used the gift given to him by the Lord to heal the local villagers with his acupuncture skills, helping spread the Love of Christ to the people around him.
Pastor Tung once said that he had much unfinished business. His greatest wish was to expand the classroom size because it was too small to fit 150 children together. He spent all the budget he could afford on the construction of classrooms on the second floor, but due to lack of funds, the project has been stalled.
Pastor Tung was 50 years old, unmarried, and had three adopted children. His parents had passed away long ago.
Pastor Tung is now at peace from the trials of the world and is resting with the Lord. However, we believe that his good character as a follower of Christ will leave an unforgettable impression on the hearts of the local villagers and children. Since the war is not yet over, GLEC headquarters is trying its best to contact local coworkers to make timely and proper arrangements for his funeral. Please pray for the war in northern Myanmar to end as soon as possible, and for the safety and wellbeing of our coworkers and the children still at the Joyful Children’s Home. May God Bless you for your dedication and love for these children and families affected by the war. Thank you for watching, and see you next time.
